Brocket Hall

South East England

Offers from £311pp

In the tranquil grounds of the Brocket Hall Estate lies Melbourne Lodge, our elegant Georgian coach house conversion. Previously the stable block, it sheltered the tireless steeds that not only took the Hall’s residents hunting, but also provided the main point of interest on race days proudly held on the private race course that circled the Estate during the 18th Century.

With beautiful views of the Hall, Broadwater Lake and the Melbourne golf course, the 16 luxury en suite bedrooms in Melbourne Lodge, each named after one of the great racehorses of the day, are the perfect place to stay after enjoying an exhilarating round of golf on one of our championship courses.

All 16 bedrooms are appointed to the highest standard in traditional country house style to provide a relaxing and luxurious experience. Each room retains the heritage and luxury of a bygone era with all the conveniences of the 21st Century including free WiFi, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries. Each of our double rooms are also available as twin rooms.

For the section detailing the golf course, the Palmerston Course seems to have it’s own header, could each course be detailed in the same to ensure they seem equal.

Melbourne Course

The Melbourne Course, designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark follows the natural undulations and contours of the 18th Century parkland. The par 72 provides a most enjoyable challenge in stunning surroundings.

The course crosses the River Lea several times, and golfers are carried across the Broadwater by a ferry to complete the 18th hole.

Palmerston Course

The par 73 Palmerston Course, designed by the renowned architect Donald Steel, wends its way through mature woodland. Rare Hornbeam, Scots and Corsican pine and 300 year old beech trees create some of the most spectacular hazards you are ever likely to encounter on a golf course.

Together the Melbourne and the Palmerston must justly lay claim to being two of the finest courses in England. They provide the perfect backdrop for the golf tournaments that fill the social calendar. These include Professional and Members’ tournaments as well as Pro-Am tournaments where Members can meet and play with Professionals from around the world
